This photo shows what happens when significant water damage occurs to a commercial property, in this case, a dentist's office in San Diego.

The water damage was so severe that the majority of the building materials had to be removed, including all of the flooring.

In this case, the materials under the flooring required "floor scraping", which isn't always the case.
