Back in the 1970s, sick building syndrome became recognized as people displayed similar symptoms after having spent extended periods of time in buildings with poor air quality. Sick building syndrome (also known as SBS) is a name for a condition that is thought to be caused by being in an enclosed space. The key to SBS Is that your symptoms improve after leaving the building in question, only to come back when you return to that locaton.

- Pregnant women
- Elderly
- People with respiratory issues or allergies
- People with weak immune systems
