Coastal Flooding Threatens Commercial Properties in San Diego?

Our local San Diego City, South West team is on call and ready to respond to commercial storm damage emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. King tides and coastal flooding have already slammed San Diego beaches this winter. What causes this heightened tidal activity?
New Moon Phases
When the moon is positioned between the Earth and the Sun, new moon phases can significantly impact coastal homes and businesses, particularly when they coincide with a perigee, which is the closest point of the moon's orbit to Earth. This alignment creates what is known as a "perigean spring tide," posing a heightened threat for several reasons.
During a new moon, the gravitational pull of the Sun and the Moon align, resulting in a stronger combined gravitational force on Earth's oceans. This gravitational pull leads to higher high tides and lower low tides, known as spring tides. When this occurs simultaneously as a perigee, the gravitational pull is even stronger when the Moon is closest to Earth, intensifying the tidal forces.
Additionally, coastal businesses and homes are vulnerable to rising sea levels and erosion. When perigean spring tides coincide with new moons, the elevated water levels can result in exceptionally high and potentially destructive tides. This can lead to coastal flooding, causing damage to properties and infrastructure and increasing the risk of erosion.
